Someone I love very much quit smoking yesterday. He was at about a half a pack a day.

And I'll admit, I've been known to have a cigarette, or two, while socializing.

So, we're quitting together.

I am not suicidal, nor is this man I love.  We lock our home and car doors behind us at night.

We don't do drugs so as not to get addicted and die and we buckle up in the car.

Yet, smoking is MORE lethal than AIDS, car accidents, homicides, suicides, drug overdoses, and fires COMBINED!

Why on earth would we subject ourselves to this?  Why on earth would anyone continue to smoke?

The truth is, a nicotine addiction is a powerful thing.  But, I believe we are more powerful.

Click here for all of the astonishing information about the effects of tobacco.

Here are some more facts that stuck with me:

-The average pack-a-day smoker in Florida spends more than $2,000 a year on cigarettes.

-The #1 indicator as to whether your kids will smoke is if a parent smokes.

-Smoking increases the risk of lung cancer in men by 23 times!!!!????

-It increases your risk of a stroke by 2 to 4 times!!!

If that's not enough...I put his info into this cost calculator to find out how much he's spent so far in his life on those NASTY cancer sticks...

Wait for it...$8,057!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's so crazy...

QUIT WITH US!!! We can do this!  Do you have any tips for us?
