Chris Harrison Reportedly Left 'The Bachelorette' Set Amid Show Drama

Chris Harrison has left the building!

By building, of course, we mean the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California where the upcoming season of The Bachelorette is being filmed. While there's a ton of behind-the-scenes drama happening on the show right now, it appears Harrison's departure from set doesn't have anything to do with Clare Crawley's decision to step down as the Bachelorette. The longtime Bachelor Nation host shared an Instagram post about dropping his son off at college.

"Just like that he’s gone," Harrison wrote on Instagram. "Thought dropping the big man off at college [Texas Christian University] today was going to crush me but all I could feel is pride and excitement. Especially now, so grateful that they have this opportunity. Now go take on the world and have the time of your life my boy."

Though Harrison may not have left because of the on set plot twists taking place in Palm Springs, it does raise questions about the show's filming schedule. In order to safely film this season of The Bachelorette amid an ongoing pandemic, the entire cast and crew, including Harrison, have been sequestered together in Palm Springs. Before filming began, they each had to quarantine in their rooms for two weeks. Since Harrison left the resort to travel to Texas—a COVID-19 hot spot—it's likely he will have to quarantine for another two weeks before he's able to rejoin the rest of the cast and crew.

ABC has offered little insight into what's really going down on The Bachelorette set right now, however, they did share the first preview for the upcoming season. The preview shows Crawley tossing away her roses and a pair of high heels. Cryptic, right? We'll just have to wait and see how this season plays out when it airs later this year.
