After a nearly two year hiatus from her vlog, Olivia Jade is teasing a return to YouTube. The 21-year-old influencer's update comes shortly after her mom, Lori Loughlin, was released from prison. Lori served a two-month sentence for her involvement in the college admissions scam.
"I genuinely just have the biggest smile on my face while editing," Olivia Jade wrote on Instagram Stories. "I'm starting to remember why I did this whole thing at 14-years-old. Brings genuine joy."
Olivia Jade added a follow-up slide, reflecting on her absence from the platform. "I'm [very] excited for this new chapter [and] also a little mind blown you guys haven't seen a vlog of mine since I was 19," she wrote.
During her parents' legal battle, Olivia Jade remained out of the public eye. Once Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were sentenced earlier this year, Olivia Jade spoke out about the scandal for the first time on Red Table Talk. âI felt so ashamed and embarrassed," she said at the time. "Although I didnât really 100 percent understand what had just happened because there was a lot that, when I was applying, I was not fully aware of what was going on. When I got home [from spring break] I just felt so ashamed.â
âIt really canât be excused,â she continued. âThis has been a really eye-opening experience for me ⊠and although thereâs a lot of negative around it and thereâs a lot of mistakes and wrongdoings, itâs led me to have a completely different outlook on a lot of situations."
The vlogger also told the hosts she feels like she deserves "a second chance to redeem myself, to show I've grown." Olivia Jade didn't hint at what her YouTube videos will be about now, however, she used to focus mainly on her day to day life and beauty.
