Mötley Crüe co-founder Nikki Sixx tells his incredible origin story in a new memoir from Hachette Books.

THE FIRST 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx explores Franklin Feranna's early childhood and troubled teenaged years, his first steps in music, his fight for survival, his name change, his ambition and his eventual breakthrough.

"With hard work, passion, and some luck, the vision manifested in reality—and this is a profound true story finding identity, of how Frank Feranna became Nikki Sixx," reads the book's description. "And it’s a road map to the ways you can overcome anything, and achieve all of your goals, if only you put your mind to it."

THE FIRST 21 will be available everywhere on October 19. The book's arrival will correspond with a single of the same name by Nikki's band Sixx: A.M., which has a new album, HITS, arriving on Oct. 22.
