Ryan Seacrest to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of American Top 40

American Top 40 is celebrating its 50th anniversary this Fourth of July weekend and Ryan Seacrest will be taking listeners down memory lane, recapping the No. 1 hits throughout the years and the most memorable and iconic moments with the show’s beloved artists, ranging from Madonna to Doja Cat and everyone in between.

Starting this weekend, Seacrest will relive some of the unforgettable moments on the chart from the last 50 years and we’ll also hear our favorite artists share their own personal AT40 memories.

Founding host Casey Kasem kicked off the show on July 4, 1970, adding tidbits and facts about the artists on the original countdown after finding a copy of “Who’s Who in Pop Music” in the trash can near the studio door. Fast-forward to 2004 and Seacrest took over, where he continues to celebrate serving as host today.

And the celebration won't stop with just this weekend! Seacrest will be keeping the fun going all year long with the launch of "AT40 Rewind." Each week we’ll head into the AT40 Vault to relive historic moments in music and dig up some of our favorite memories from the countdown including the 1998 AT40 debut of Britney Spears to Casey Kasem’s very own first day on the job.

Join Seacrest in celebrating AT40’s 50th birthday this weekend and stay tuned via social @AT40 for more. Be sure to also send us a tweet or leave us a comment on Instagram with your own AT40 memory or #1 artist and song!
