FLORIDA - Aldi continues its expansion across Florida, with 21 new locations scheduled to open soon.
The majority of these new stores are former Winn-Dixie locations, as the German discount grocery chain moves forward with converting former Winn-Dixie and Harvey's Supermarkets into its no-frills store format.
In 2024, Aldi acquired Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harvey's, but later sold most of these stores to private investors.
Despite this, Aldi is continuing its conversion efforts.
The new Aldi locations opening in Florida include six stores in July, which are:
- Odessa: 17649 Gunn Highway (July 17)
- Crawfordville: 2629 Crawfordville Highway (July 24)
- Jensen Beach: 1105 Northeast Jensen Beach Blvd (July 24)
- Westlake: 5062 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road (July 24)
- Port Orange: 5500 South Williamson Boulevard (July 31)
- St. Cloud: 3318 Canoe Creek Road (July 31)
Aldi’s Florida expansion also includes new locations in Aventura, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Sarasota, among others.
In 2025, Aldi has already opened several new stores in Florida, including locations in Apollo Beach, Arcadia, Avon Park, Boynton Beach, and Deltona.
Aldi operates stores with a simplified layout, offering fewer brand-name items and a focus on private-label goods.
The stores do not feature meat counters, delis, or pharmacies, and customers are expected to bag their groceries using either store-provided boxes or their own bags.
Aldi plans to convert around 220 former Winn-Dixie and Harvey's stores into Aldi locations in Florida by 2027 and open 225 new U.S. stores in 2025.
