If you were wondering when the holiday festivities would kick off at the central Florida theme parks, you can rest assured that they are certainly here.
Ever since the end of Halloween, there has been a run-up to festivities such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas at Disney world, as well as the seasonal offerings at its sister park, Epcot.
SeaWorld Orlando and its associated parks are putting an aquatic spin on the season, keeping in the maritime spirit.
And Universal Orlando is up and running this weekend, with its own multi-park holiday celebration.
The release of the latest movie taking place in the world of Harry Potter, "The Crimes of Grindelwald," is helping to set the mood as Universal Orlando brings back its light and song spectacle "The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle." The spectacle takes place at the landmark Hogwarts Castle in The Hogsmeade part of the Wizarding World, located at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
Actually, the entire Wizarding World at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure ... both parks ... has been transformed into a winter spectacle with themed decorations, garlands and lights throughout the streets of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
Guests can enjoy special holiday-themed performances by the Frog Choir ... comprised of Hogwarts students and their giant croaking frogs ... and Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees, one of the wizarding world’s most popular singing sensations.
There will also be seasonal food and beverages, including hot Butterbeer.
Universal's guests can also count on meeting a holiday favorite ... the Grinch.
The perennial curmudgeon and nemesis of all the holidays in Who-ville will be his irascible self at the park, and will be more than happy to pose with guests for Grinchy photo-shoots.
Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s at Universal Studios Florida makes its return this year, after the unveiling last year of the refurbished and further polished parade.
All the floats that people expect from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade are on display for this daily event, which has become a park staple ... right down to the appearance of Santa Claus at the parade's highlight.
Given all these events, and more that are taking place at other venues around the central Florida area, it is safe to say that everyone has tucked into their best holiday finery and is set for the occasion.
