Alligators Frozen In North Carolina swamp
It has been so cold in the Shallotte River Swamp Park in North Carolina that alligators are literally frozen alive in the ice!
The in the frozen North Carolina swamp are using what is called Brumation which allows the alligators to survive extreme weather conditions. They do this by keeping their snouts sticking out of the water and basically shut down their entire body to conserve energy. It looks absolutely miserable.
Hopefully, it warms up in North Carolina soon and these poor alligators can get back to doing alligator things.
