My Top 5 Places To Slow Life Down At Disney
As a Floridian, we are privileged with the ability to visit Walt Disney World as we please (assuming you have season passes or contact that old high-school friend you never talk to, but know they have the hookup). So my question is if you do have access to Walt Disney World...where do you go to just relax and get away from the everything?
5. Pandora - World Of Avatar at Animal Kingdom
My Suggestion: First stop by Satu'li Canteen and grab yourself a bite to eat, then grab a drink and find yourself a nice spot to sit down by the face painting. From there, sit back and relax.
2nd Suggestion: Check out Nomad Lounge for a drink on the river for an even better experience. Comfy chairs (great shot by TharinWhitePhotography below)
4. Disney Springs - Boat House Bar
Ahhh Disney Springs... one of the great places on Walt Disney World property where you can walk around with a drink, try out some of the best restaurants around, shop a little and see live entertainment everywhere.
My Suggestion: Check out the Boathouse, but no need to make a reservation and wait in line. Walk in, go straight past the bar to the outside area and go take a seat at either the outdoor bar on the docks or if you're lucky you will find yourself a small table for two on the water. Do you still get served out there?
Tip: Ask the servers about where their fish comes from. Then consider switching up your Burger choice for Fresh fish!
2nd Suggestion: The Coca-Cola rooftop bar. Head up there around sunset with some friends and enjoy that view,
3. Italy Pavillion at Epcot
Imagine the greatest bar in the world, that is how we locals feel about Epcot. It's the perfect place to tell all your friends "Meet at Mexico" and they will know exactly what you're talking about. Even though Epcot can be filled with thousands of people, there are plenty of places to get away from it all.
My Suggestion: Italy - Amo l'italia! Grab a glass of wine, some cheese and find yourself a bench by the water.
2nd Suggestion: Have a nice long dinner in France. Sitting there having some great food with a view you expect to be flying back to the states the next day.
3rd Suggestion: London - Stop into the pub, grab a pint with some fish and chips then grab a table on the water. Try to get there around 7pm to get the best seat in the house for the fireworks.
2. Disney's Boardwalk
It is crazy to me that people still don't know about Disney's Boardwalk but still there are some people out there that must live in a bubble (a bubble called Celebration ;) hahaha).
My Suggestion: Grab some drinks (or not, but those drinks at AbracadaBar are something else. Then take a walk around the loop and check out Jellyroles and Atlantic City Dance Hall
2nd Suggestion: You can take a long walk down to Hollywood Studios from the Boardwalk and catch the nighttime fireworks show.
1. Tom Sawyer's Island - Magic Kingdom
Beyond the million plus things to do at the Magic Kingdom, sometimes you just want to take a break but where? You could go for a train ride around the park or maybe take a seat at the train station overlooking main street.
My Suggestion: Grab some lemonade and take the Ferry over to Tom Sawyer's island. From there you have two options.
- Walk to the back of the island, there you will find 2 rocking chairs overlooking Big Thunder Mountain.
- Walk towards the Haunted Mansion and you will find a few rocking chairs available overlooking the park.
Either option is a great one. Enjoy and send me your best spots!
