Two teens dead after police chase with Florida deputies

Hendry County, FL - Two Florida teens are dead after crashing into a canal during a high-speed chase with deputies.

According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the two teens died during a high-speed chase in Hendry County.

Deputies say the teens were traveling at high rates of speed in a sedan heading southbound on C.R. 835 when they failed to make a sharp right turn at the intersection of Roberts Road, continuing straight towards the edge of a large canal near the road.

The teen's sedan became airborne, striking the southern edge of the canal near the shoreline.

The Hendry County Sheriff's Office says both teens were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
