My Cruise + Engagement!

It feels great to back on land after a long week of cruising. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time but I definitely learned that cruising just isn't for me. My 7 day cruise turned into a 5 day cruise, after spending 2 days in bed with the worse sea sickness ever! If you've never experienced sea sickness, consider yourself lucky because it's easily one of the worst feelings to be felt. It's like a bad hangover excepted drinking water and throwing up doesn't make you feel better. Luckily I got engaged before I got on the ship, so there was really nothing that could bring me down!

My boyfriend My fiance (it's gonna take a while to get used to saying that) proposed to me before we left for the cruise, and I'm glad he did. He said he wanted to do it before the cruise because he was worried about losing the ring, and he wanted us to have something to be excited about even if the cruise was awful. Now, I'm not saying the cruise was awful....but I am saying that it wasn't great. The weather was a bummer, the service was a bummer, being sea sick was a bummer, but the ring on my finger was not a bummer. It's no secret that I'm a huge procrastinator, so I was scrambling to get things ready the morning that we were supposed to leave. I ran out of time to get a pedicure, so an hour before we had to leave I remembered that I needed to paint my toenails. I had just sat down with my nail polish when my fiance asked me if I could come into the room to help him with something. I kept asking him what he needed help with but he wouldn't give me a straight answer. For a split second I was thinking to myself, "well if he won't tell me then it must not be important," but then it clicked. He wasn't telling me because it was a proposal! As soon as I realized that, I jumped up and ran into the room. Sure enough, he was down on one knee holding out my ring and with the cutest face ever, asked me to marry him. There was no big production, no hidden cameras, just the two of us at home and it was perfect. I obviously said yes, then we carried on with our day as per usual.

I met my fiance when I was 12 years old. We were maybe 2 weeks into 7th grade and my mom had just picked me up from volleyball practice. As we were leaving the parking lot, we drove past the cutest lil spikey haired boy who was holding football pads bigger than him, and I told my mom "I don't know who that is, but he's gonna be my boyfriend." Fast forward to 13 years later, I'm now engaged to that lil spikey haired boy and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
