Meghan Markle Won't Have A Baby Shower Ahead Of Daughter's Arrival

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently expecting their second child together. As their daughter's arrival approaches, the Duke and Duchess have decided to forego having a baby shower. Though there was a shower ahead of Archie's arrival back in 2019, Harry and Meghan feel the circumstances are different this time around.

“Meghan doesn’t feel a big baby shower with gifts is appropriate right now,” a source told Us Weekly. “There is too much strife in the world. She and Harry have been so involved with humanitarian issues, they both feel their time and resources can be used for a better purpose.”

The Duchess of Sussex “has the support of her friends and, most importantly,” her husband on this decision. “Harry is the ideal partner, taking care of Archie and working to provide for his family,” the source added.

While it's surely disappointing to skip the celebrations this time around, Meghan's friends made sure to go all out for her first shower two years ago. Serena Williams hosted the shower at the Mark Hotel in New York City. The lavish baby bash had cotton candy machines, gorgeous flower arrangements, and more.

Even though they won't be having a shower this time, Harry and Meghan are still excited to be expanding their family. “Just to have a boy and a girl, what more can we ask for? We’ve got our family. We’ve got, you know, the four of us and our two dogs, and it’s great," Harry raved during the couple's CBS interview back in March.

Baby Sussex is expected to arrive sometime in early summer.
