I have been saving and making payments on the most expensive vacation that I have ever taken in my life for the last 8 months... Every July the wife and I take a trip for our anniversary. This year we flew to New York for the weekend... then hopped on a cruise to Bermuda! I have been on a lot of cruises but never one that left from New York. Sailing out of New York was pretty awesome... We went by the new World Trade Center... then by the Statue of Liberty... Being the nerd that I am, I teared up. Cruising from New York is well... Interesting... Hanging in New York with New Yorkers is one thing... a boat full of them is another animal... A high strung, aggressive, not worried about personal space... animal. It's also the first time I have ever been on a cruise that allowed 18 year olds to drink with parent consent... I don't judge people but there is no way I would ever consent to my kid drinking... and maybe it was a New York thing, but parents were feeding even younger kids drinks?! It was like an old school High School house party... Such a different vibe than I am used to!

We picked the cruise because we had never been to Bermuda... and Bermuda was beautiful... but it was a whole different vibe. I wasn't very tropical... and it was RICH! We were on the ferry to downtown and we went by a $100,000,000 yacht that is owned by a Russian Billionaire... and that wasn't even the biggest boat! The locals were great and everyone was nice... and like we always do, we found the local hangout and had drinks with them for a while. We went reef fishing... but really it was reef fish feeding because we didn't catch anything... and we spent the even on a luxury catamaran named ZARA that was awesome.
