Dogs Perish In Orange County House Fire

More than a dozen dogs have died in an early-morning house fire in Orange County.

The fire broke out in the home of a labradoodle breeder who lives on Bay Lake Road near John Young Parkway.

Orange County firefighters were able to revive six dogs, but 19 died from smoke inhalation. Firefighters also rescued a crate of nine puppies.

The breeder was in the home at the time of the fire and she managed to escape uninjured.

An air handler may have sparked the fire, but the fire marshal's office is still investigating.
