The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation into a death involving a Tri-Rail train Thursday night.

Lake Clarke Shores Police say a pedestrian was walking on the tracks at Forest Hill Boulevard when a southbound train struck them just before 7 p.m.

None of the sixty people on the train were injured and they were bused to the Lake Worth Beach station. Passengers on northbound trains were bused to the West Palm Beach station, until around 9:30 p.m. when the train involved in the accident was allowed to proceed.

No identity has been given on the person who was struck by the train.

Two people were fatally struck by Tri-Rail trains in West Palm Beach during separate incidents last month, including one pedestrian and the driver of an SUV who stopped on the tracks.
