Coach arrested after attacking coach and player during basketball game

Coral Springs, FL - A South Florida basketball coach has been arrested for attacking a coach and player after losing a game last week.

Police say coach Peterlantz Dantes was captured on cell phone video attacking the coach and player after losing the championship game inside the Coral Springs Gymnasium during the Back-to-School Jam Fest.

WSVN obtained footage of the attack which can be seen here.

Event organizers say Dantes, 40, is not allowed back at the gym, and that he won't be welcomed back to coach.

Marcus McGee, basketball tournament organizer, tells WSVN Dantes "has been banned from all of our events. You don’t see adults, a coach attacking a child. There’s no excuse for what he did, chasing down a child”

Officials say the player suffered an eye injury and the other coach tore his hamstring.

Dantes was arrested and charged with two counts of battery.
