Florida mom sentenced to 364 days in jail for fentanyl overdose of daughter

Lee County, FL - A Southwest Florida mother has pled guilty to aggravated child neglect after her 7-month-old daughter ingested fentanyl.

According to police, first responders were dispatched to the Cape Coral home of Patrina Gordon Miller on June 30th, 2021 after Miller's daughter was found unresponsive and not breathing after ingesting fentanyl.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors administered Narcan after noticing the child's pinpoint pupils.

Immediately after being given the Narcan, the infant began to stabilize.

Officials say the child tested positive for fentanyl.

Miller was sentenced to 364 days in prison and was given credit for two days already served.

She's ordered to undergo 24 months of drug offender probation, followed by 12 months of state probation.
