78-Year-Old Man Arrested on Murder Charges in Shooting Death of Neighbor

DeLeon Springs, FL - A 78-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his neighbor during an argument over tree trimming.

Police say 78-year-old Edward Stanley Druzolowski was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a shooting incident on Alameda Drive in DeLeon Springs.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Brian J. Ford, was reportedly trimming trees along the fence line when Druzolowski confronted him about being on his property.

Druzolowski admitted to threatening Ford and shooting him after he did not leave the property.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office received two 911 calls related to the shooting.

One of the 911 calls was made by Druzolowski's wife, reporting that Ford was on their property cutting down trees.

The other call was made by the victim's mother, who expressed concern and mentioned that her son was cutting the trees to protect her fence.

Volusia County Sheriff's deputies arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.

Druzolowski has been booked into the Volusia County jail on a second-degree murder charge and is being held without bond.
