Pompano Beach, FL - A 39-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for the March 6th murder of another man over a $3 debt outside of a South Florida convenience store.
According to court documents released on Monday, the motive for the shooting appears to be a $3 debt owed by the victim, whose name has not been disclosed.
Authorities believe the argument over the money escalated when the suspect, identified as Terry Flowers of Pompano Beach, known by the street name "Weezy," shot the victim five times in front of the J-Mar Food Store on North Powerline Road shortly before 9:30 pm.
The victim was transported to Broward Health North where they were pronounced dead.
Police say a witness reported seeing Flowers confront the victim with a gun two days prior to the shooting.
Surveillance footage from the scene captured the shooting, including what investigators believe to be an unidentified accomplice who was filmed collecting shell casings after the murder.
Flowers was arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office VIPER unit deputies at a Dania Beach apartment complex.
He is currently jailed without bond on a first-degree murder charge.
