The Palm Beach County Commission is considering expanding its "Port St. Lucie Express Transit Pilot" program.
The four daily trips between West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie have been operating since September on a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation. Two are in the morning and two more in the evening.
Palm Tran says they average about 44 riders each day, connecting residents to jobs and leisure on the Treasure Coast. Each trip costs #3 and now the county is looking at another $2.7 million grant agreement with FDOT to add three new buses.
The commissioners were set to discuss the topic on Tuesday.
