Melbourne, FL - Canova Dog Beach in Florida has been ranked one of the top five dog-friendly beaches in the U.S. by HomeToGo, thanks to its pet-friendly amenities, traveler satisfaction, and nearby parks.
HomeToGo, a vacation rental search engine, recently released its list of the “45 Dog-Friendly Destinations for Shoreline Escapes,” highlighting locations across the country that cater to travelers with pets.
Among the top five is Canova Dog Beach, located in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
To create the list, HomeToGo analyzed three key factors: affordability of nearby lodging, overall traveler interest, and visitor satisfaction at each dog-friendly beach or park.
Canova earned praise for its designated dog area, where leashed pets can safely enjoy the sand and surf.
The beach also benefits from close proximity to other pet-friendly spots like Gleason Park and Wickham Park, making it an ideal coastal destination for dog owners.
Located along North Highway A1A in Brevard County, Canova is the only official dog beach in the area.
It offers a laid-back, well-maintained environment perfect for sunny outings year-round.
Florida is well represented on HomeToGo’s list, with several other dog beaches making the cut, including Jupiter Dog Beach (#11), Fort De Soto Dog Park (#17), and Bonita Beach Dog Park (#18).
Taking the top overall spot was Agate Beach in Oregon, recognized for its peaceful atmosphere, scenic views, and wide-open shoreline.
Whether you’re a local or planning a vacation, Florida’s coastline offers plenty of pet-friendly options to explore with your canine companion.
