Florida is becoming the second state in the country, behind Utah, to ban fluoride from drinking water.
Governor Ron DeSantis was in Miami this afternoon for a signing ceremony.
He and the State Surgeon General believe fluoride is neurotoxic, can reduce IQ and have other adverse health impacts.
Water fluoridation supporters feel it supports oral health.
The bill's signing comes just hours after Miami-Dade County Commissioners voted to overturn the Mayor's veto and put back in place their local ban on water fluoridation.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava says she's listened to experts who have said fluoride in water is safe, but she also knows the county will have to follow state law.
The new law is set to go into effect on July 1st.
