Some soccer fans will have to win a chance to buy tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup games before players win their first match in North America.

The 48-team, 104-game tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

First, fans must register for a FIFA ID at FIFA.com/tickets between Sept.10 and Sept. 19 and use that FIFA ID to enter a pre-sale ticket drawing.

A random selection process follows, and the winners will be notified by email beginning Sept. 29 they have been selected.

The winning fans will be given a timeslot beginning Oct. 1 to purchase tickets for all 104 matches, according to FIFA.

Second, an early ticket drawing will be held between Oct. 27 and 31. Winners will be given ticket purchase timeslots between the middle of November to early December.

Third, a random selection draw will begin Dec. 5 after the World Cup game schedule is finalized.

Also, FIFA says tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and a resale system will be set up closer to the start of the tournament.

Ticket prices range from $60 for group-stage games up to $6,730 for the final match.

There are limits of four tickets per person per match and a maximum 40 tickets for all the matches.
