Homestead, FL - Daisy Link, 30, was found guilty Thursday of second-degree murder in the 2022 shooting death of her partner, Pedro Jimenez.

The case concluded after jurors deliberated for less than two hours following closing arguments.

Prosecutors stated that Link fired at Jimenez while he was attempting to flee and misled authorities by claiming she had found him injured in an alleyway.

Link admitted to discharging the firearm but insisted she acted in self-defense, citing a history of domestic abuse.

During her testimony, she described an incident five days prior when Jimenez allegedly pistol-whipped her with the same gun that later caused his death, an assault she did not report out of fear he would be deported and she would lose custody of their children.

Link testified that the fatal confrontation began after she confessed to cheating, and Jimenez allegedly became physically aggressive and tried to lock her out of the home.

The bullet struck him in the leg, and he collapsed and died shortly after.

Link also called her 11-year-old son to testify that he witnessed Jimenez fire a shot at her that day, which missed.

The case received national attention after it emerged that Link became pregnant while incarcerated.

Court records indicate she allegedly conceived a child with fellow inmate Joan Depaz, a convicted killer, using semen passed through the jail’s ventilation system.

Depaz is serving a 25-year sentence for second-degree murder.

Link gave birth in June 2024, and her family is caring for the child.

Miami-Dade authorities confirmed the conviction, and sentencing for Link is scheduled for November 21, 2025.
