The House Ethics Committee is forming a subcommittee to investigate Congressman Cory Mills of Florida's 7th District.

Mills is accused of violating campaign finance laws, improperly soliciting or receiving gifts and special favors, misusing congressional resources and engaging in sexual misconduct.

The House voted 310-103 to refer the censure resolution against Mills to the House Ethics Committee. The move prevented the lower chamber from voting on GOP Rep. Nancy Mace's measure that would have censured Mills and removed him from his House committee assignments. congressman.

Last month a Florida judge ordered Mills to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend after she accused him of threatening to release sexually explicit videos of her following their breakup.

The restraining order prevents Mills from contacting Lindsey Langston, who was named Miss United States in 2024 and is a Florida Republican state committeewoman from Columbia County.
