Registration is now open for the 2026 Florida Python Challenge, which begins on July 10th.
"It's a good day for the Everglades, and a bad day to be a python," said Henri Ferré with Inversa Leather.
Ferré is offering to buy any of the invasive snakes trappers kill in the Everglades during the 10-day event. He says since their technology was unleashed through their public/private partnership, three times as many snakes were caught compared to the year before.
The person who traps the most snakes will win the $10,000 grand prize.
