Tyler got a bonus from work. First time since the pandemic started. He wants to add that money to their savings so they can buy a house. They're currently living in an apartment. They have no kids.
Tabitha wants to use the bonus money to invest in a crypto currency. It's very new but all the Brokers in her firm is investing their money in it. If it hits, they can make enough money to pay cash for their new home. All they need to do is let it sit there for a while and watch it blow up. A popular billionaire is linked to the crypto currency. They expect it to be really big. If they would have invested their money last week, it would have doubled already.
Tyler's problem is that neither one of them know anything about crypto currency. They don't what to look for. Don't know when to sell it or hold on to it. Tabitha is good friends with one of the brokers and he's going to walk her through it. This person has never met Tyler. He's willing to help Tabitha because she's good at her job and she asked him to. He's willing to do it for free. He also warned her that anything can happen in the crypto world. It's possible to lose everything. Tyler doesn't like the fact that they know absolutely nothing about where their money is going. Tabitha mentioned that people call their office all the time and they don't know anything about investments and trust the company with their money. It wouldn't hurt them a lot financially if they lost the money because they weren't expecting the bonus in the first place.
